Standing room only, as intended. Wilfredor · CC0
A standing coffee bar near the Pantheon
Sample entry: marble counter, no seats, ninety seconds from order to pavement.
A demonstration entry for the most Roman thing there is. You pay at the till, take the receipt to the bar, say what you want, drink it standing, and leave. Sitting down at a table costs more — sometimes considerably more — and that is not a scam, it is the posted tariff.
No specific bar has been assessed here. The useful content for a real one would be: whether they roast their own, whether the cornetto is made on site, and how early they open.
Before you go
- How it works
- Pay at the till first, then order at the bar with the receipt
- Seated vs standing
- Table service is charged at a higher rate — it is posted, not a surprise
